Is Hairstyles Makeover Suitable for You?

Women spend about $61 billion between the makeup counter and hair salon, and yet we all have stories of haircuts and lipsticks that have gone horribly wrong.

Now there may be a fix. You can change your look before you even spend a dime. That right, the computer hairstyle makeover offered in the net.

Red Carpet looks are all the rage -- from Jennifer to Anne to Rachel and more -- but how many times have you bought the latest "it" color only to see it's an "ick" color on you?

"Now it's my turn to try out a new look. Will I be a red head, brunette? Can I try out that season's red lipstick color or that dark smoky eye? Now's the time to find out," said one of the top hairstylist.

Pull back your hair, take off your makeup, and upload a picture … all for free. Then pucker up with a berry pink lip and check out the full palette of hair colors and looks from The Aniston long blonde braid to the Ginnifer sassy brunette with smoky eye and sheer lip, or the redheaded Rachel Evan Wood complete with the season's red lip.

"The makeover sites are the biggest trends right now," said Eleanor Langston, beauty editor at Self magazine.

Langston said the myriad of Web sites that let you try out all the latest looks are a great start to a new you.

But you can get closer to that Hollywood look, even if you don't earn a celebrity paycheck.

Celebrity Hairstyle: Long Layered Hairstyle

If you’re in the search for a new look, you might want to take a look at some long hairstyles, particularly layer style. This extremely versatile cut suits a wide variety of face shapes and can be as casual or dressy as you need to be. By simply keeping a few things in mind, you can find the long layered hairstyle that's perfect for you.

A layered look will let you keep the length of your hair while allowing you to achieve a softly feminine look around your face. Don’t be afraid to find the style that suits your face shape the best! Locks that are cut to chin-length give round faces some much-needed length. With longer faces, consider a series of short layers that will show off the angles of cheekbones and the shape of your chin. Depending on your personal style, you can go for long, gently-falling layers or for a more abrupt, choppy cut, which will provide you with a more aggressively modern look. (See below for the best way to test different hairstyles with YOUR face shape).

Believe it or not, one advantage of long layered hairstyles is the fact that they require very little maintenance and preparation to look good. A quick trim every six weeks from a stylist who is familiar with your hair should do, and the rest of the time, you can pull your hair up or back or leave it loose.

For a sporty, playful look, pull back your hair but leave long tendrils to frame your face. If you're interested in a more mature, sensual look, try combing some leave-in conditioner into your long hairstyle and then use your hands to give it some gentle waves.
