Desperate Housewives Stars Stick by Marc Cherry, Issue Statement

Nicollette Sheridan says she felt compelled to bring a lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, following an incident last year in which the actress says her boss struck her across the face.

Now, Sheridan's former co-workers feel equally compelled to stand up for Cherry.

The main Desperate Housewives cast members - Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman - have issued a joint statement that pledges full support for Cherry. It reads:

"It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing. We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment.

"It is, in fact, the opposite. The friendships and support that Marc Cherry, the cast, the crew and the producers have shared for the past six years have made this a wonderful job that we are grateful for every day."

Because Teri Hatcher was singled out in the lawsuit - Sheridan alleges Cherry said he hopes Hatcher "gets hit by a car and dies" - that actress says she never authorized Sheridan's attorneys to use her name and:

"While my adoration and respect for the classic and dynamic chemistry of the characters of Susan and Edie is indelible, I'm honored to stand with Eva, Felicity and Marcia, as a group and clarify that our set environment is nothing less than an amazingly positive experience. I have never felt discriminated against. In fact, I have felt heard and respected by Marc and other executives in regards to both my professional and personal needs."

Courtney Love Shoots Down Robert Pattinson Casting Rumor as "Stupid"

He hasn't given an interview or done much press in awhile, but Robert Pattinson is at the center of two new rumors.

The first is clearly ridiculous: sorry, Gossip Girl fans, but the Twilight Saga star did NOT hook up with Leighton Meester.

As for talk that Pattinson was Courtney Love's first choice to play Kurt Cobain in a movie about the late rocker, the former Hole singer has halted this casting possibility in its track.

"Isn't that so stupid, who would cast him? That's just wrong, no offense [to Pattinson]," Love told The Canadian Press. "I watched the Twilight stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenage girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time. But isn't that silly?"

Love added that she'll never watch any biopic about Cobain because it would be too painful, but she did list a couple actors she could see in the role: James McAvoy and  Ryan Gosling.

Sonja Morgan Aims to "Commercialize" Herself on The Real Housewives of New York City

Give Sonja Morgan points for honesty.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly why she's appearing on The Real Housewives of New York City (Morgan debuts tonight), the socialite replied:

"I’m on the show to have a good time and commercialize myself... I’ve been writing my screenplay since the minute my divorce started. It’s very sexy, sort of like a Candace Bushnell society novel."

TMZ has learned what triggered a run to the courthouse between Shawn Southwick and Larry King was a discovery Shawn made -- a discovery she believes proves a continued relationship between Larry and her sister Shannon Engemann.



Sources tell us earlier this week, Shawn discovered evidence that Larry has continued to give Shannon expensive gifts -- very expensive gifts.

We're told Shawn was assured by Larry that the gifts had stopped -- but she found evidence to the contrary.

Our sources say Shawn is a "wreck."

As for her meeting today with attorney Robert Kaufman, we're told she has not hired him -- she is sticking with the lawyer who filed divorce papers on her behalf, Joe Mannis ... at least for now.

Jaimee Grubbs Mug Shot -- The Eyes Have It

TMZ has obtained the mug shot for Tiger Woods' alleged mistress #2 Jaimee Grubbs -- taken after she was busted for outstanding warrants in West Hollywood last night.

Grubbs could have cracked a smile for this mug shot -- after all she just replaced her infamous missing tooth.

As TMZ first reported, Grubbs was arrested yesterday in West Hollywood on three outstanding warrants related to driving on a suspended license.

She posted $30,309 bail at 1AM this morning.

Grubbs -- aka Tiger's alleged mistress #2 -- claimed she had a 31-month affair with the golfer.

Paris Hilton -- I Dropped a Quick 200 Pounds

Attention shipping heirs and pretty boys -- Paris Hilton is back on the market.


Hilton confirmed that she pulled the plug on her relationship with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt .... who now joins the ranks of Stavros Niarchos, Pizza Boy, Benji Madden, Rick Salomon, Nick Carter, Paris Latsis, Josh Henderson ... etc ... etc ... etc ...

The former couple had been dating since early 2009.

Cop in Roethlisberger Case -- I Quit

The cop who first investigated Ben Roethlisberger for sexual assault has "resigned" in the wake of the release of a police report that shows he may have referred to the accuser as a "f*cking bitch" ... but TMZ has learned the cop didn't really have a choice.



We're told the Milledgeville Police officer -- Sergeant Jerry Blash -- turned in his resignation yesterday. He had been with the force for 8 years.

In the report, investigators claim that on the night of the alleged incident, Blash admitted that after he encountered the accuser, he may have made a comment similar to "this f*cking bitch is drunk" or "this bitch is drunk off her ass accusing Ben of assaulting her."

Investigators also report that on the night of the incident, Blash informed the accuser and her friends that "Roethlisberger has a lot of money" and if the women were to follow through with a police report, they "would be wasting their time."

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Blash was given a lose-lose option -- resign...or be fired.

FYI -- Blash is the same guy who posed for photos with Ben hours before he was approached by the alleged victim outside the Capital City nightclub in Georgia.

Larry King's Wife Interviewing Divorce Lawyers

TMZ has learned Larry King's wife is meeting with a second divorce lawyer, even though she's already hired a big-time divorce attorney who filed legal papers on her behalf.


Attorney Robert Kaufman -- who has handled divorces for Jennifer Aniston, Rupert Murdoch and Mel Gibson  -- just showed up at Shawn Southwick's home in Bev Hills.

Sources tell us Shawn's lawyer is still Joe Mannis, a tough celeb divorce lawyer.  But, we're told, several friends of Shawn told her she should at least meet Kaufman.

Tiger Woods -- Ready to Swing Again

Tiger Woods will golf again in 2 weeks -- despite rumors he and wife Elin Nordegren are getting divorced.

Today, Woods announced on his website he was "excited about competing" in the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, NC -- a tourney that runs from April 29 to May 2.

Tiger has played the event four times before -- he's only won once.

Of course, Woods returned from a 5 month "break" from golf at the Masters last week, where he placed fourth ... and told reporters he'd "take a little time off and kind of re-evaluate things."

Tiger is also scheduled to play in the U.S. Open in June -- he's already a favorite to win.

Mariah Carey: Dream Keeper Dazzler

Getting all glammed up for a public appearance, Mariah Carey made her way to the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City on Thursday night (April 15).

Clad in a sexy little black dress, the Grammy winning singer was on-hand for the 12th Annual Keepers of the Dream Awards, which "recognizes exemplary displays of committed service to the tenets of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the ultimate dreamer.

Aside from her Dream Keeper outing, Miss Carey has reportedly signed on to star alongside Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose and Loretta Devine in Tyler Perry's new movie.

According to Mr Perry, the film will be shot in New York City this summer for an expected release in late 2010 or early 2011.

As for the new flick, it's an adaptation of a play by Ntozake Shange written in 1975, with Tyler telling press, "Making a film of four colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enough is a dream come true for me."
