Serena Williams Partners with HSN to Launch New Line

s: Lipstick Alley/Jamd

Serena has had her share of fashion hits and misses over the year but the budding clothing designer definitely loves making an impression off the court as well as on. Her first collection, called Aneres, launched in 2004 and now a new line, called Signature Statement, will debut on the HSN network on April 30th.

According to WWD, the items will retail from about $30 to $100 and includes a range of jewelry, handbags and knitwear. Williams herself was quoted in the article sharing that "one of [her] dreams has always been to share gorgeous gifts of fashion and luxury with the world."

Hopefully for Serena, this deal will be as lucrative as past HSN partnerships with Iman and Paula Abdul.

The Williams Sisters in Vogue

Andre Leon Talley has been seen all over the place with his new BFF, Venus Williams. The athlete has popped up more than once on his page in Vogue Magazine (though not in an editorial, one would have to pick up Harper's Bazaar to see that.)

While one cannot deny that both sisters have been looking more stylish lately but who knows if ALT is behind it. He worked some serious magic when he started working with Renee Zellweger but his helpful hints didn't do a lot of Jennifer Hudson or Mariah Carey

This is Not Your Grandma's EBONY Magazine

Is there some new blood over at Ebony shaking things up? Because this doesn't look like the Ebony I remember. You know, the one that every other black beauty salon in the country has had a subscription to since 1972...and they kept every issue? There was the nicely executed "Fashion Issue" last year and then young heartthrob blood Chris Brown on last month's cover. These days the content seems to be skewing to a much younger demographic. Seeing Serena Williams and her glorious booty gracing the cover of the July issue is definitely a head turner. First of all, I have never seen her look better and secondly, the photo is not a crappy composite shot or something lifted from a photo agency. If I didn't see that iconic red and white Ebony logo in the top left corner, I would have mistaken this for an issue of In Style. I just wonder if there is an ad for Fashion Fair's Vantex fade cream in every issue.

Style Star: Serena Williams

I never thought I would write these words but Serena Williams looks amazing. What a difference figure flattering clothes, her natural hair color and dumping her makeup gun have made. I don't know what stylist of the gods got a hold of her but s/he deserves an award, his or her own clothing line and a book deal. Bravo! Source: TFS
